It was pretty good, but Karen was disappointed that the cream was not clotted.
More evidence here that everything here wants to kill or maim you!
Lovely view on the beach...
Another photo stop on a little bay where the back window of the church looked out over the water.
The church is out of shot, on the left.
We found one, but it was back in the undergrowth... My sunnies fell in the water in my efforts to get a photo and a quick lunge over the side retrieved them with no loss of limbs to crocs, but some bruised ribs and a busted boathook!
We stopped for lunch (very tasty Barramundi) at a place where they also told us all abut the local tropical fruits and we got to taste a few of them. This flower was just hanging near us, looked like the textbook shot to take!
On the way back we passed what Brian likes to call the 'Hairy Mary trees' - the branches are covered in epiphytes.
Also, drew a little doodle...
Back in Cairns we wandered along to the marina and figured we'd stop for a drink and a bite. The drink being a 4 person jug of Mojito... we, it was cheaper than buying 4 individual drinks!
On the way back to the hotel we were intrigued by the Nitrolato gelato shop... basically the Heston Blumenthal version of making gelato...
Making them looked like a mad scientist's chemistry experiment!
But the results were yummy...
Off to Sydney tomorrow - apparently the schedule 'steps up a gear' from now on...!!!

Stopped at another beach where I spotted this rock formation that looks just like the Skullcandy logo!

Good to read your update. You could be a tour guide!
ReplyDeletecouldn't see the croc, even got my resident reptile hunter to look at photo, he couldn't see either.
